Markets in everything, but out of stock
Transcend 8 GB SDHC SD Class 6 Flash Memory Card TS8GSDHC6E [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]
That's $24.45 on Amazon but out of stock.
The regular version, with "frustration packaging" (my phrase, not theirs), is in stock for $17.45.
I thank Beth for the pointer.

It's available for much less from non-Amazon sellers.
I guess that's Amazon "frustration pricing".

It's worthwhile noting that the first is sold directly by Amazon while the second is sold and shipped by another merchant using Amazon for their store front.

How frustrating is this "frustration packaging?"
Most packages are damn annoying to open, until you introduce a pair of Kitchen scissors to them. After that, it becomes pretty easy....and I really don't think a trip to my kitchen to get those scissors is worse than paying $7.

I see the frustration version headlined at $17.10 in stock, and then other prices used&new at 10.43.

Didn't they just have this conversation (modulo the packaging issue) over at Crooked Timber?

It's more than just risking injury to get the package open that is frustrating about shipping a postage stamp sized product in a shoe box.

This still shows $17

I don't know how things are in that funny foreign country overseas that they call America, but here in the sensible United Kingdom I've been observing the price in my 'save for later' basket on amazon.co.uk of exactly this item (coincidentally - it's for my Acer Aspire One). Last week said SD card plummeted from just over ten quid to £9.something, then £9.something lower, then £9.and a few pence, then a day or so ago it increased - it's now £119.09.
