Tried reading the book, Let Me In, and gave up 3/4 through, but still want to see the flick.

Letham is a big Thomas Berger booster, so his recommendation (and Tyler's) carries weight.

Hmm. I saw it in the new fiction section at Barnes and Noble last night. Perhaps they jumped the gun.

Why not Synecdoche? I've been waiting YEARS for that movie.

Let the Right One In -- I liked but wouldn't urge it on anyone.

The interpretation that seemed to make the most sense is disturbingly anti-libertarian: immigration as vampirism.

But it's just a pretty good horror flick.

"Let the Right One In is the movie to see, not Synecdoche."

Actually, it's possible to see both, and Synecdoche is well worth seeing.

The review of 2666 makes me want to read it. This is a rare for a NYTimes book review.
