Concise Encyclopedia of Economics

It is now on-line.  Contributors include Armen Alchian, Gary Becker, Avinash Dixit, Claudia Goldin, Greg Mankiw, Paul Romer, Pete Boettke, Tyler Cowen, Bryan Caplan, Russ Roberts and many others.

On another topic, from elsewhere, here is Arnold Kling on net worth certificates.  And here is Russ Roberts on home prices.  Here is Bill Easterly's Op-Ed on development and the crash.

Russ Roberts' op-ed is an excellent summary and it is very well written.

It looks good. Not as good as having a complete set of the New Palgrave encyclopedias but more up to date and cheaper. From my very brief skim it looks like George Borjas is still sticking with his book-cooking approach on immigration though maybe he's just not citing the pretty devastating critiques. I'm sure there are other fishy entries. But, that was true of the New Palgrave books, too- you have to know your author to know what you're getting. Good to know of, though.

Wouldn't "Encyclopedia of Economists" be a more accurate title?

That is, sorry to insult Caplan's work, the worse entry I have ever read on communism, anywhere.

"That is, sorry to insult Caplan's work, the worse entry I have ever read on communism, anywhere."

I don't know, but...

"one-party dictatorship must continue until it enjoyed unshakeable popular support."

It's a pretty good start on The Bush Doctrine.

Thanks for the plug, Tyler. As you know this 5-year long project was a labor of love. And marginal revolution readers and others owe a lot to Tyler. As I wrote in the Acknowledgements, "I particularly want to single out Kevin Hoover, for his detailed comments and suggestions that were easy to follow and implement; and Tyler Cowen, for his incredibly quick turnaround and, well, encyclopedic knowledge."
Best,
David
