On Abrams ... do you watch Lost? We're in deep, absolutely addicted to it. ;-)

I've been reading the Antiplanner recently, and unless you put it up there for the critical comments, I'm a little disappointed in you. That blog has to be the best example of vulgar libertarianism I've ever seen. O'Toole is perpetually blind to the enormous subsidies that roads receive (in addition to regulation in their favor) – while every day he posts something bad about a public mass transit project, he has never once (that I know of) opposed a single road plan. He covers for this by throwing out statistics that say that the vast majority of highways are funded through user fees, but doesn't respond to criticism that only the highways are funded this way, while feeder, arterial, and local roads are often built and maintained out of general funds. For some examples of comments far more insightful and critical than O'Toole's original post, see these recent posts and the ensuing discussions in the comment section here, here, and here

Hey! That antiplanner planner blog stole my blog concept. No fair.
Just kidding, I'm sure I'll be visiting it.

Thanks to linking to the Boltzmann Brain article. Here's a talk I gave last week about this stuff at Santa Barbara:
Now I just have to finish the paper...

I recommend the Rorty interviews 'Against Bosses, Against Oligarchies' as an enjoyable and extraordinarily candid documentation of how a major intellectual working in the major universities in the world can retain the political perspective of a precicious fifteen year old.

Why would Whedon call his show "Dollhouse"? That's like a deliberate attempt to turn-off that so called important demographic of 18-49 year old males...

A second hurrah for JJ Abrams - at this point, I'm willing to give anything with his name
attached a good faith effort.

I live in Asia and have limited knowledge on US TV shows. I heard that the drama series nowaday are
pretty good (Dexter, Law and order, etc.) Any good recommendations of series that are worth watching?
Ideally they'd have something on human psychology, economics, culture or society for one to reflect on.
