Or to look at it another way, if Hillary Clinton's entire agenda were enacted, her climate change proposals would wind up doing more to improve public health than would her health care proposals.
That is Matt Yglesias; here is more. Here is the latest report on diabetes and low blood sugar.

Hmmm. How would her climate change proposals improve public health? All of her proposals, whether dubbed climate change or something else, will be anti-economic growth policies. Nothing helps the poorest of Americans like a healthy and growing economy and nothing hurts them like a stagnant economy. Worst of all, a stagnant economy makes it more difficult for those Americans to obtain and pay for good health care. Oh, I know, Hillary is going to make health care free. Right.

That's TYPE 2 diabetes, and the deaths were correlated with other risk factors in addition to lowering blood sugar. Also, "low blood sugar" and "lowering blood sugar" are two very very different concepts. The linked article seems to confuse these. Low blood sugar is hypoglycemia, which can have all kinds of bad impacts on the brain and other systems, while lowering blood sugar has to do with tightening control over the entire range of blood sugars experienced over time, which has already been shown to be A Very Good Thing.

it's shocking to me that these doctors don't realize that insulin is a dangerous hormone if taken in excess. much research has shown insulin to essentially be a marker for age: the more insulin in the body, the shorter the lifespan. one of the keys for successfully managing type II diabetes is to increase one's insulin sensitivity, meaning less insulin is required to decrease the sugar content in the blood.
