It's Morocco, by the way, and they are eating olives. Thanks to Paul Hsieh for the pointer.

I thought of Sylar.
Who's with me?

Thank you for the clarification. I thought the ones in the tree were dead. So glad to know they are alive and eating olives.

I thought it was some kind of crossbreeding gone interesting...cats and goats living together...

Looks like we're exceeding carrying capacity.

Have you been reading In Bad Taste? The author has a bit about an oil they sometimes make from the droppings of goats that climb olive trees (argan oil).

Envirowacos go on and on about global warming. Why not goats? I hate goats.

The goats are eating the leaves and nuts of the Argon tree in southern Morocco. There are many similar pictures of Moroccan goats in Argon trees. The nuts go through the goats and are collected by locals who make oil from the nuts. If you are in the Northern VA area, look in some of the high-end gourmet or naturalist grocery stores (Fresh Fields or Harris Teeter near Sterling, VA) and you will find this oil. It has a really very nice subtle taste and is cherished by fine-foodistas, especially the French (naturally). Ain't it great to learn something new?

the low-hanging goat principle?

this is so goddamn weird that I'm going to have trouble buying any explanation that doesn't come in person with me looking at this tree.

Who says goats don't grow on trees?

Titles:
1. Go for the low hanging fruit.
2. Life is short and then you die.

If I were a goat, I'd rather be in the tree.
