I'm surprised that DeLong is still mentioned as a worthwhile blogger. He edits his comments sections to exclude viewpoints that he doesn't agree with and it really deadens the debate at his blog. As a result his comments sections are mostly vapid echo chambers.

The final straw for me was here.

Beginning with the fourth comment by Anne, many of the comments are responding to an initial post by a Big John Studd mentioning moral hazard and S-CHIP. And yet DeLong has deleted the Studd comment that is being responded to!

If the offending comment had been spam or obscenity, I doubt it would have attracted the reasonable responses it does. Why bother visiting a blog that deletes dissent, especially one that explicitly touts itself as being "fair and balanced?"
