A good sentence I read today
We always find it funny that you can use sex to sell jewelry and cars, but you can’t use sex to sell condoms.

I find it funny (peculiar) that murdering people is illegal, but depicting it in film is not, whereas having sex is not illegal, but (in many places) depicting it on film is.

That was both interesting and amusing to read your comment about not being
able to use sex to sell condoms. The marketing folks are obsessed with
aliterative acronyms like the 4 P's and the operations management people
are equaly guilty with their 4 M's (Ishikawa's fishbone). Here in Italy,
where I have lived in Rome for may years, they in fact do use sex to at
least get people to examine the use of the product. Several TV ads have
shown a shapely( can it be otherwise) woman fingering the outer surface of a well-known brand of condom with a big smile on her face as she walks away hand in hand
with her boy friend who is wearing that red ribbon AIDS symbol on his
lapel. Another magazine shows a man bargaining with a prostitute asking for
a discount because of the really high quality product he would be "wearing" for the occasion.
