Before reaidng the profile I would have thought the only reasonable answer would be "who cares?". After reading it that feeling is only strengthend.

She's really not blogging in her blog eh? :D
Posted by: Chewxy at Apr 21, 2007 9:05:36 AM
What I like about her background is that being exploited by her employer
led her to join a movement that believes that such exploitation does not exist.

You sour buggers. The lass is a breezy, bracing Good Thing.

The 'lass' shows a continual inability to tell the difference between anecdote and evidence, among other sins. This pretty much overwhels whatever virtue her "breeziness" or "bracing" might bring.

women...

I used to read her blog regularly, but after a while I realized that she really doesn't know what she's talking about. And doesn't much care. Her standard justifications used to be (may still be) "a former prof said" and "I have some friends who know something about this, and they say..."
Pretty weak.

I loved it, thanks! :)

erics sentiments seem to be those of a large number of guys on her comment threads... does anybody really care what she has to actually say? i dont think so
Posted by: adrian at Apr 22, 2007 5:05:34 PM
Megan built a following before images of her were widely known as far as I can tell
Posted by: sort_of_knowledgeable at Apr 22, 2007 5:49:49 PM
Eric, you know that there are two different Megans, right? And the libertarian Megan is not the water-dork Megan.
So which of us do you think is prettier?
Posted by: Megan at Apr 23, 2007 12:47:53 AM
Eric, don't actually answer that. I was teasing you, but on reflection, it isn't funny.
Posted by: Megan at Apr 23, 2007 12:56:09 AM
Spencer, we don't believe that exploitation doesn't exist; we just believe its rarely a stable equilibrium, which is why I no longer work for PIRG . . .

Or, as JK Galbraith put it, 'Under Capitalism man exploits man. Under Socialism the reverse is true.
And I think Megan is cute as well as smart.

If you don't think that female intellectuals face significant discrimination, I advise you to read and ponder this comment thread.

sorry

Tyler,
Agree with your comment. This turned into something worse than the most smelly-socks,
stinky-jockstrap, locker room discussion.

I have a problem with people who twist the truth: She lies about having allergies so that restaurants will omit ingredients that she doesn't like.
Where are Rachel Lucas and Tanya? http://www.redsugar.com/muse/
Tyler: A few comments do not mean significant discrimination...

How many blog threads about male intellectuals have you seen in which nearly half of the comments have contained significant debate about the subject's looks?
