Best Sentence I Read Yesterday
I knew as a libertarian that it was imperative to be tolerant of alternative lifestyles. Until I walked into that convention hall, I had no idea how many alternatives there were.

It does. Tocqueville said it, Weber said it, others have pointed it out. The world is a whole lot less diverse today than it was 200 years ago. I think capitalism had something to do with that, and I don't think that's such a bad thing, either. In any case, I see no reason to deny it. BTW, I see the attendees at the LP party indicative of very little, much less the effects of capitalism.

Libertarians are about as effective olitically as Nader believers. That is why most of them vote GOP--to get the larger budget they did not want; the bigger govt they did not want; and a war or two they did not want.
