Favorite opening lines
The Army will not seize power in Fiji this afternoon because of a rugby match with the police.

I think Fiji could have been remarkably improved if the stadium collapsed on both.

Was it here that I read Fiji's king asked to become a protectorate during The Civil War, but Lincoln's people thought it was a joke and threw the letter in the trash????
Then the Brits got to them and here we are.
At least there are priorities.

Has the first sentence changed, or did you paraphrase? It sounds much better the way you wrote it. Here's what it says at the link:
"The Fijian Army is taking on arch-rivals the Police in the much-anticipated annual Sukuna Bowl rugby clash, rather than stage a coup."
