Banned in India?

That seems to be us, and all other typepad blogs, according to this story.  The fear is that terrorists are using blogs to communicate secret messages.  If you are in India, and reading this, please let us know in the comments...Thanks to Rajeev for the pointer...

For anyone who plans on being in India, there is a wonderful tool called TOR available at tor.eff.org. (You also need to either download a Firefox extension, or manually change your settings for other browsers.) Also useful for China.

You're safe, since your domain is marginalrevolution.com, and as far as I can tell, domain filtering is the only thing they're doing.

I'm in Bangalore. Accessing through a proxy server. Easy enough. Interesting story.... Our corporate internet went down for about an hour yesterday. When it came back, the blog hosting sites were blocked. Seems they had to take down our internet to implement the censorship. Blog hosts are also blocked on my home ISP.

Holy Crap! I hear terrorists use paper to pass notes! BAN PAPER!

Posted by: bago at Jul 18, 2006 11:23:28 PM

All blogspot.com blogs have been blocked. However blogs like urs and econlog etc have been spared the censorship. http://indiauncut.blogspot.com had a comment from a govt. officials who thinks that all blogs are just webpages displaying messages of hate and was unable to fathom the customer complaints.

I can't read Marginal Revolution, Cafe Hayek and India Uncut.
All typepad, blogspot domains have been blocked.
Shit! this sucks, I have to find a public proxy every day.
The govt has increased the cost of reaching blogs.
