Hmm. I wonder if this effectively circumvents the anti-scalping laws: you still sell the ticket at face value, even though you sell the option for much more. Hopefully the CFTC won't mind.

I am unsure of the scalping laws, but if you were an authorized reseller in the appropriate state (is it state of sale or venue?) who couldn't otherwise get your hands on tickets, this market seems reasonable. Especially with Indianapolis or Seattle, you could hedge not receiving the TicketReserve tickets by selling the corresponding conference champion contracts on Tradesports (and the markets are thick enough for this).

Tradesports/Intrade is looking into ways to allow franchise owners to hedge business risks in a way that would allow them to transact in prediction markets. That's a very tough sell to leagues and regulators.
